VisionFund Presents ‘Threads’ – a short film from Myanmar

Did you know that 70 per cent of the adult population in Myanmar is financially excluded or informally served? The country is one of the poorest in South East Asia, with over a quarter of the population living below the poverty line.

As one of the fastest growing microfinance networks in country, VisionFund Myanmar is using its geographic footprint and expertise to cater to exponential growth, particularly in rural areas where the need is highest.

Reaching over 120,000 clients, VisionFund Myanmar is impacting lives every day. Lives like Paing’s, whose mother has built a weaving business from VisionFund loans. Take a look at Paing and Myint Myint’s journey:

While VisionFund Myanmar has nearly doubled its size in the past year, the potential for growth, demand for its services and opportunity to lift millions out of poverty is huge. According to UN statistics, 70 per cent of the adult population is financially excluded or informally served.

VisionFund has a goal of serving more than 500,000 clients by 2020.
