Sophie joined VisionFund in early 2016 from the world of corporate communications, having worked in agencies in Auckland, Sydney and London.

Pro bono communications work for Opportunity International Australia in 2013 first piqued Sophie’s interest in the microfinance sector, and she now serves as the Communications Manager for VisionFund International.

A graduate of Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, Sophie holds degrees in Business and Arts, majoring in Commercial Law, Marketing, History and Media Studies.

Previous experience servicing corporate finance and technology clients in all facets of communication has meant that Sophie has brought a variety of skills to the VisionFund MarComms team.

Passionate about gender equality and empowering communities through entrepreneurship, Sophie volunteers for HERA, an organisation that supports female survivors of human trafficking on their journeys to become economically active. She also indulges in plenty of solitary reading time, when she isn’t travelling with her husband, Thomas.
